Once installed on your site, the GPL Downloads Update Client plugin connects to our server using your account credentials and registers your domain as an active site. It then integrates directly with WordPress’s built-in update mechanism, so any plugins or themes you’ve downloaded from GPL Downloads appear alongside your regular WordPress updates. When a new version is available, you can update with a single click — just like any other plugin.
