Fair play and conduct
The rules that keep GPL Downloads fair for every member, and what happens when they are broken.

Membership and our rules
Your use of GPL Downloads, including its content and items, must comply with our policies as they stand from time to time, including the fair use policy below.
Being a member is not an automatic right. It is a benefit for those who follow our reasonable rules. We hope you will be with us for a long time, but we may use reasonable discretion in deciding whether your use of GPL Downloads complies with these terms.
When we may suspend or close an account
We can suspend or terminate your subscription account at any time and for any reason, acting reasonably, including if you:
- breach these terms;
- act in a way that does not align with the values of our community; or
- act in a way that could cause harm to us or to others.
Conduct that can end a membership
Examples of reasons for termination include:
- Abusive behaviour or excessive negativity towards our staff or other customers.
- Repeated defamatory, malicious or false statements about us, including slander, or attempts to persuade potential customers away from purchasing our products.
- Promoting competitor products, contributing to software piracy, hacking, spamming or other illegal acts.
- Attempting to get around our fair use policy.
If your account is terminated
- No refund is issued to a customer whose account is terminated.
- If we permanently terminate your account, you must not apply for a new one, as you will no longer be welcome.
Fair use of downloads
We follow a fair-use approach to downloads. The service is provided to genuine individuals who give accurate personal information. It is not available to competing catalogue sites or to anyone collecting items to build their own library.
Passing files to others, reselling access, or accumulating products for redistribution is strictly prohibited. If we identify misuse, we will not issue a refund.
One account per member
Each member may have only one account. If we identify multiple accounts belonging to the same person, we may restrict or terminate all of the associated accounts without a refund.
Monitoring
We monitor activity automatically and escalate unusual patterns to our team. Membership is reserved for legitimate customers.
